I have been engaged by global engineering consultancy on the search for an Interconnection Manager to join the team. The firm has been operating in this space for the last 20 years, but have launched their US division a few years ago.

The Interconnection Manager will oversee grid connection processes for all renewable projects including Solar, Wind & BESS ensuring compliance with Interconnection requirements and facilitating a smooth energization authorization process.

 

Responsibilities:

Reviewing and coordinating documentation, providing design input, and collaborating with various stakeholders, such as substation and renewable engineers, local utilities, and grid operators.

The engineer must also contribute to the development of commissioning plans, stay updated on industry requirements, and actively manage project-specific success criteria.

You will need to leverage your existing network contacts within the space to develop new business relationships.

 

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems.
  • P.E Preferred
  • 5-10+ years experience with 2 years of experience in grid tied generation projects.
  • Experience with Interconnection requirements in multiple operating jurisdictions. Preference would be SPP, PJM, MISO.
  • Knowledge of power plant modeling with Power Factory, PSS/E, ETAP or SKM.

Senior Manager of R&D

Piper Maddox is partnered with a leader in the battery manufacturing space, producing custom cells, battery packs, and energy management systems for a variety of applications. They are seeking a talented Senior Manager of R&D who will lead the development and maintenance of the businesses entire R&D portfolio, and a team of 25 who executes that research. In this role, you will plan, direct, and execute R&D group programs in the creation, development, characterization, testing and delivery of battery/energy storage materials and technologies. You will also serve as the main technical point of contact with R&D group customers. Key Responsibilities: Generate and propose technical and programmatic (schedule and budget) solutions and R&D programs in response to government and commercial business opportunities. Generate and direct work plans, test plans, and work requests. Manage programs within budget and ensure on time delivery of project milestones. Present data and conclusions internally and to customers. Give papers and technical presentations at conferences. Author reports and other written deliverables for R&D programs. Ensure that group equipment/assets/properties are maintained. Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions. Provides advisory support and assistance to the department manager as needed. Other duties as assigned by management Multiple direct reports (research scientists, scientists, engineers, technicians) will be managed. Manage career development and coach reports. What We're Looking For: Ph.D. in chemistry, electrochemistry, chemical engineering, physics, materials science, materials engineering, or similar degree areas. M.S. will be considered with an appropriate history in the battery industry (min. 10 years) and appropriate track record.
