Piper Maddox is thrilled to partner with one of the foremost pioneers in the eVTOL aircraft industry, embarking on a mission to give the public a fully electric, sustainable Aircraft.
Currently, the team are looking for two Systems Engineers to join the Power Distribution team. This critical role will see you acting as a key person in the Power Distribution department ensuring that low-voltage and high-voltage distribution systems meet performance, functional and certification requirements. This critical position is vital to completing their flagship aircraft and is vital in the development of future aircraft for the business. Join us in shaping the future of aviation and innovation!


As a Systems Engineer for Power Distribution, you will:

* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop and integrate high- and low-voltage power distribution components and their interrelated systems (e.g., high-voltage batteries, battery management systems, electric motors, avionics, etc.).
* Prepare and evaluate design documents (e.g., requirement specifications, design descriptions), test procedures, inspection protocols, and analysis reports to ensure adherence to the system, subsystem, and component requirements for aircraft power distribution systems.
* Develop and review technical documents related to electrical and communication interfaces for power distribution systems, ensuring clarity and accuracy in system integration.
* Partner with certification engineers to ensure all design and development activities satisfy relevant certification requirements.
* Collaborate with safety engineers to support system-level assessments, including failure mode analysis and risk assessments (e.g., FMEAs, CMAs, PRAs).
* Work closely with testing and verification teams to define test strategies and ensure successful validation and verification of electrical designs.


We are looking for:

* Experience in designing and integrating low and high-voltage electrical components within complex systems, such as aerospace, land, or naval vehicles.
* Comprehensive understanding of industry standards and regulations (e.g., SC-VTOL, ARP-4754, DO-254, DO-178, DO-160) and their impact on system and component development.
* Proficiency in using requirements management tools (e.g., Integrity, Doors, Polarion) and systems engineering processes, including requirements capture, validation, and verification.
* Ability to document and assess compliance through engineering reports, test plans, and related documents.
* Fluent in English, with excellent technical writing and communication skills.


Desirable experience:

* Familiarity with electrical components for aviation applications, such as fuses, SSPCs, contactors, DC-DC converters, diodes, circuit breakers, connectors, and related hardware.
* Awareness of emerging trends in high- and low-voltage power distribution technologies within the aerospace sector.
