Project Developer - Solar & Onshore Wind

 

Location - Cork Office (3 days per week in office, 2 days WFH)

 

Salary Range: €55,000 - 65,000 DOE + wider package

 

Piper Maddox are partnering with an industry leader in the global renewable energy sector with a key addition to their operations in the Irish renewable energy market. Our client have been a mainstay in the sector for many years now and have a demonstrable track record across multiple international territories.

 

In terms of structure, this company are a fully fledged independent power producer (IPP) who take projects from inception, through development, into delivery, and eventual operation. Technology-wise you would be working on a range of Solar, BESS, and Onshore Wind projects - all at a utility scale.

 

In Ireland specifically, this company have developed an excellent portfolio of projects at various stages of the development lifecycle. With this strength of pipeline, they are currently looking at adding experience to their project development function in the form of a Project Developer hire who will be crucial in the early stages of the project lifecycle.

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

 

> Identification of new sites/project opportunities, as well as the resultant negotiations with landowners and management of the land acquisition process.

 

> Management of the planning application process, collaborating with external 3rd party consultants, as well as representing the company at public consultation events.

 

> Liaison with internal and external engineering and grid professionals to ensure the technical feasibility of a project as it progresses to the RTB stage.

 

This role would be a great opportunity for someone with 2-4 years of experience, with backgrounds in land acquisition or planning being ideal. While prior experience in renewable energy would be preferable, transferable industries such as utilities and major infrastructure are also applicable.

Our client is a fully fledged independent power producer, taking projects from inception, through development & construction, and into eventual operation. Technology-wise, they have a mixed portfolio of Wind, Solar, and BESS assets. Within the current uncertainty around grid connections and the Gate2 process, this company is able to offer excellent stability both in terms of funding as well as the status of their portfolio. They received very positive Gate2 notifications, but due to their stature in the market, they are also taking longer term views into the wider portfolio. They are currently looking to add an experienced industry leader to come onboard as their Head of Project Development for the UK team. This position will play a key role in this company's plans going forward and will sit on their established senior leadership team who cover the full project lifecycle from end to end. Necessary experience for this role would include: > Managing large scale renewable energy projects from early development stages, through to the handover to construction/delivery. > In this specific role, there is a particular focus on securing full planning and environmental consents for TCPA & NSIP level schemes. > Strategic leadership and oversight into project and portfolio stability including financial/budgetary matters, key investment decisions, and commercial considerations. > Direct team leadership and management, overseeing a full development team encompassing, land, planning, grid, and engineering professionals.
