Senior Development Manager - Commercial

 

London Office Location - 2/3 days per week

 

Salary Range Dependent on Candidate Experience: £80,000 - 90,000

 

Piper Maddox are currently partnering with an international leader in the development of renewable energy. Our client have been a driving force in the industry for over 15 years and the UK arm of the business is one of the core territories looking ahead.

 

This company have an excellent track record in the development, construction, and operation of large scale Solar & BESS projects as a fully fledged IPP. Crucially, they have the demonstrable evidence of success in the full project lifecycle and are one of the most reputable names globally.

 

In terms of pipeline, this company have an excellent portfolio of projects that received positive notification results in the Gate2 process. Pairing this with strong funding, our client are a very stable proposition amidst all of the grid reform changes.

 

With clarity still filtering through in terms of connection dates, our client see a great opportunity to expand their portfolio, alongside existing development efforts. The aim to achieve this with the hire of a Senior Development Manager who has a blended skillset across project development and commercial acumen.

 

Key requirements include:

 

> Project Development experience, leading projects through key land, grid, and planning milestones towards the RTB stage.

 

> Experience in contributing to extensive due diligence on a project's viability when assessing project acquisition opportunities.

 

> Strong financial modelling experience in terms of running the model, forecasting revenues, and maintaining detailed project models.

 

> Experience in key investment decisions for project progress, managing project budgets & timelines, alongside the core project development responsibilities.

 

An ideal background would be someone who has a demonstrable track record in either buy or sell side M&A transactions, alongside a grounding in project development experience.

Head of Project Development (Solar, Onshore Wind, BESS) Scotland Office Locations - 3 Days in Office, Hybrid Working Pattern Salary Depending on Candidate Experience + Bonus & Wider Benefits Piper Maddox are partnering with a leading player in the renewable energy sector who have been a mainstay in the UK market for many years. Our client is a fully fledged independent power producer, taking projects from inception, through development & construction, and into eventual operation. Technology-wise, they have a mixed portfolio of Wind, Solar, and BESS assets. Within the current uncertainty around grid connections and the Gate2 process, this company is able to offer excellent stability both in terms of funding as well as the status of their portfolio. They received very positive Gate2 notifications, but due to their stature in the market, they are also taking longer term views into the wider portfolio. They are currently looking to add an experienced industry leader to come onboard as their Head of Project Development for the UK team. This position will play a key role in this company's plans going forward and will sit on their established senior leadership team who cover the full project lifecycle from end to end. Necessary experience for this role would include: > Managing large scale renewable energy projects from early development stages, through to the handover to construction/delivery. > In this specific role, there is a particular focus on securing full planning and environmental consents for TCPA & NSIP level schemes. > Strategic leadership and oversight into project and portfolio stability including financial/budgetary matters, key investment decisions, and commercial considerations. > Direct team leadership and management, overseeing a full development team encompassing, land, planning, grid, and engineering professionals.
