Are you a BESS expert looking for an opportunity to lead cutting-edge grid-scale battery storage projects? Piper Maddox are working with a leading IPP in the Battery Energy Storage Systems space who already have 400MW of BESS capacity in operation across the UK.

My client is seeking a Senior BESS Specialist to play a key role in delivering innovative energy storage solutions. With a strong pipeline of projects, this role offers the chance to drive real impact in the transition to a more sustainable future. You'll also have the chance to be involved in the complete project lifecycle.

What You'll Do:
* Oversee BESS solutions from procurement through to operation.
* Work closely with BESS suppliers/integrators to ensure optimal system performance.
* Ensure designs meet grid and operational requirements, making recommendations for improvement.
* Develop strategies to optimise battery performance and lifespan.
* Support Operations & Maintenance and Trading teams with technical expertise.
* Research and evaluate emerging energy storage technologies.
* Opportunity to occasionally travel.

Skills Required:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Strong experience in renewable energy and grid-scale energy storage.
* Expertise in BESS design, installation, commissioning, and lithium-ion battery technology.
* Knowledge of SCADA systems, industrial control methods, and HV substation integration.
* Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and optimise system performance.
