Are you an experienced power systems engineer with a knack for leadership and a passion for innovation? Piper Maddox is partnered with a leading consultancy seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer to drive excellence in their transmission projects. This is your chance to lead a dynamic team, manage pivotal projects, and shape the future of energy infrastructure.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Lead with Expertise: Utilize your deep knowledge of ISOs/RTOs to support and guide transmission engineering teams through planning, studies, and modeling.
  • Deliver Results: Ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to quality standards and budget constraints.
  • Mentor and Develop: Provide technical guidance on power system studies, including steady state, short circuit, dynamic stability, and electromagnetic transients.
  • Optimize Resources: Manage team resources and forecast revenue to meet billable hours and revenue targets.
  • Drive Improvement: Champion process enhancements to boost efficiency and maintain high client satisfaction.
  • Expand Business: Assist with RFP responses, scope development, and build strong client relationships. Represent the company at industry conferences and events.

 

Who You Are:

  • Experienced Leader: Over 7 years in power systems engineering with a proven track record of managing projects and teams effectively.
  • Software: Experience using tools like PSS/E, TARA, PSLF, PowerFactory, PowerWorld, PSCAD and Aspen.
  • Innovative Thinker: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a talent for maintaining client satisfaction and building relationships.
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented: Capable of managing multiple projects and client engagements simultaneously.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
