Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Development Senior Manager to oversee the development of renewable energy projects. This role involves managing projects from the initial identification phase through to the start of construction and financial closing. You will be responsible for coordinating with internal teams and external consultants, leading development efforts for renewable energy projects in multiple regions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transition of projects from development to construction, ensuring smooth and efficient project execution.
  • Manage third-party consultants handling tasks related to land acquisition, environmental assessments, permitting, legal, outreach, and government affairs.
  • Secure necessary permits and land rights for renewable energy projects, including agreements related to taxes, road use, and decommissioning.
  • Oversee proposal preparation and participate in negotiations with stakeholders, including utilities.
  • Identify and evaluate potential project sites, ensuring compatibility with resources and infrastructure.
  • Lead due diligence for potential acquisitions and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, utilities, and community leaders.
  • Participate in policy outreach and advocate for renewable energy initiatives.
  • Monitor and negotiate interconnection agreements with transmission providers and third parties.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals throughout the development process.
  • Provide regular updates to management, supporting project pipeline progress and financial analysis.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and seminars to enhance relationships within the renewable energy sector.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management within the renewable energy industry, with a proven track record in development and execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with industry-specific software tools.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams and stakeholders across various disciplines.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support project development activities.
