Director of Electrical Engineering
$190,000 - $210,000 + 20% Bonus
Arlington, VA (5 Days per Week)
I have been engaged by a leading Independent Power Producer who is expected to reach quadruple their operational Solar & Storage projects by 2025. All of the assets in this current portfolio are at the utility scale between 60MW - 125MW.
The EPC department is looking to double in size this year, the are looking for a Director of Engineering who will oversee, coordinate, and manage civil and electrical design development and implementation.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Long-range Planning: Collaborate with senior management to establish long-term operating and construction goals.
- Project Development: Lead the development of new solar sites from concept to production, coordinating with various teams.
- Market Analysis: Work with cross-functional teams to assess market potential for new projects.
- Project Oversight: Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to schedule and budget.
- Problem Solving: Address engineering challenges and coordinate solutions with stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders to define project requirements and specifications.
- Team Management: Supervise engineering contractors and staff, recruit additional engineers as necessary.
- Coordination: Manage in-house electrical engineering team and coordinate with external consultants.
- Communication: Maintain professional communication with all relevant parties involved in projects.
Skills & Expertise:
- Experience: 5 to 7+ years in engineering, preferably in utility-scale renewable energy.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications, with the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
- Financial Skills: Ability to analyze financial impacts of engineering requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred
