Piper Maddox has been engaged by one of the world’s largest private renewable energy companies, to assist them with hiring a NERC Compliance Manager in Houston TX.

 

Job role:

 

• You will oversee the compliance program and be an interface with FERC, NERC, NERC Regional Entities (MRO, NPCC, RFC, SERC, TRE & WECC), Canadian regulatory authorities (AESO, BCUC, Government of Manitoba, IESO), ISO/RTOs (AESO, CAISO, ERCOT, IESO, MISO, PJM & SPP) and other regulatory and reliability entities applicable to the company assets.

 

• The NERC Compliance Manager will lead the effort to monitor different reliability regulatory rules as they apply to ensure the appropriate systematic preventive measures in place to maintain compliance with the requirements

 

• You will provide technical guidance and feedback to operations, engineering, information technology, and other subject matter experts tasked to support compliance with reliability regulations.

 

• Activities include managing several Reliability Compliance Analysts.

 

• Maintaining the compliance of assets to applicable FERC Orders, NERC Reliability Standards, ISO/RTO market rules

 

Location and Compensation:

• Houston, TX (Hybrid, 2-3 days in office)

• $130,000 to $150,000 + Bonus and Benefits

• 20% Travel requirements

Piper Maddox have been engaged by a reputable IPP to support them on hiring a new Origination Manager to join their team. The Origination Manager will manage existing customers, create new customer relationships, and negotiate and execute structured power transactions for development and operating projects, with a particular emphasis on new renewable power products, customers and/or regions. The Origination Manager will work closely with potential customers to understand their needs and develop product structures to meet them and is responsible for developing the deal structure and working with the different desks to develop pricing. Additional areas of focus for this role will be on model economic analysis, pricing and structuring of offtake arrangements, proposal drafting and tracking, market analysis, customer intelligence and tracking, as well as internal coordination to originate new business, finalize bids, and bring transactions through the execution process. The role will report to the Director of Origination and will work closely with Development, Delivery, and Finance teams. Duties: Initiate and identify new origination prospects, and plan and execute an outreach strategy for all projects under development, with a focus on executing Power Purchase Agreements or similar financial swap agreements Monitor market trends and align PPA strategies to account for external and internal changes Lead/Support the negotiation efforts to structure PPA agreements with commercial, industrial and utility off-takers Develop and implement customer and market strategies Develop and maintain strong customer and business relationships Analyze and develop different structures for the customer and for the Company, including risk mitigation solutions to ensure risks are appropriately managed and quantified Coordinate with development, finance, delivery and other departments to develop solutions for customers, including assisting in the development of proposals and pricing for opportunities, and integrating offtake structures into financial models Monitor/Report policy and regulatory changes which may impact the company's position Present deals to senior leadership, seeking approval of the proposed deal structure Conduct research on new markets, understanding policy driven customer demand factors, offtake products, and risks, and conduct due diligence on acquisition targets and greenfield opportunities Communicate directly with potential customers to gain an understanding of customer needs to propose solutions and/or negotiate deal structures and documents that meet those needs Essential Specific deal experience (3-5 years) with offtake structures, power purchasers, utility scale customers, and key power marketing contract concepts related to utility-scale renewable power plants Working knowledge of RTO operations, electric transmission and power generation and storage technologies, with specific experience in MISO and PJM Location: This role is remote, or Hybrid if the individual lives local to one of the offices. Salary: $150,000 to $180,000 base plus bonus and benefits
