Position Overview
The organization is seeking an experienced Director of Asset Management to lead the strategic oversight and management of its renewable energy assets. This role focuses on optimizing asset performance, ensuring efficiency, and maximizing financial returns while supporting the company's growth in the renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of asset management, energy markets, financial modeling, and renewable energy technologies, particularly in solar, battery storage, and distributed generation systems.
Responsibilities:
Asset Portfolio Management: Oversee a portfolio of renewable energy assets, ensuring optimal operational performance and financial returns.
Strategy Development: Create and implement strategies to maximize asset profitability through revenue generation, cost control, and efficiency improvements.
Performance Monitoring: Analyze asset performance metrics to ensure alignment with operational goals and industry standards.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks, including operational, financial, and market-related risks.
Contract Management: Manage Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts, and other asset-related agreements.
Financial Oversight: Collaborate with the finance team to forecast revenue, monitor cash flows, and ensure budget compliance.
Reporting & Analytics: Generate performance reports for stakeholders, highlighting KPIs, asset performance, and financial metrics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure successful asset management.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all assets adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and corporate standards.
Leadership & Development: Mentor and lead a team of asset managers, fostering professional growth and enhancing team performance.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
Experience: At least 10 years of experience in asset management, with a minimum of 5 years in the renewable energy sector.
Technical Knowledge: Expertise in renewable energy technologies, including solar and energy storage, and familiarity with energy market structures, regulatory frameworks, and financial modeling.
Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in performance metrics analysis, financial modeling, and asset management software.
Leadership: Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex information to diverse stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities for navigating complex challenges.
Certifications: CFA, PMP, or similar certifications are advantageous.
